What is Finale Allegro?
Finale Allegro is a stripped down version of Finale, the notation software that has been used to score several Hollywood films such as Million Dollar Baby and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, among many, and is used by musical institutions like the New England Conservatory. Allegro is based off the full version of Finale but with simplified, lighter features, although Allegro has been later discontinued and its design philosophy subsumed to other Finale products.Finale Allegro boasts the capability to score up to 32 staves, and can provide musical notation from a variety of sources, such as a MIDI device or MIDI keyboard, although like with Finale a user can just use a mouse and keyboard combination to input in the traditional method and create the notation themselves. Allegro also allows the import of MIDI files and the program will automatically write the corresponding score for it. Other features include the capability to print scores in color, smart slurs, multiple undo and redo system, true multi-track real time notation, drag and drop features, access scanned music from MIDIScan, and interoperability with other versions of Finale.
