Crescent Eve is a multi-function HTML and text editor developed by Kashim and is primarily meant only for Japanese users (requiring Japanese character sets to be installed on a Windows machine). It is based off the original Windows Notepad, but with added features while still retaining its simplicity and light footprint – it was conceived when its creator thought that most Notepad clones and multi-function HTML text editors were too resource-intensive, so they made a port of Notepad with HTML editing capabilities without being a resource hog.Crescent Eve also expands on the HTML tagging feature: when a user types < a list of tags will be displayed in a drop-down list, and as the user types a tag these tags will change according to the typed letters (like Google’s Autocomplete). Furthermore, the tags can automatically be closed when a user presses Ctrl + Enter. Other features of Crescent Eve include an HTML preview (which launches the computer’s default browser; all browsers are supported), support for Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.1, grammar check, and HTML mode tag selection tool.
