Understanding the Managed Video as a Service (MVaaS)
Managed video as a service is primarily a remote surveillance solution that is provided and managed by a specialized managed service provider (MSP). MVaaS infrastructure generally consists of network/Internet enabled surveillance cameras and a vendor provided customer-premises equipment (CPE) device, generally a switch, server or both. When enabled, MVaaS captures and records live video that is stored on the CPE device and is also continuously backed up on a remote vendor’s storage server. The MVaaS customer can view live video coverage as well as archived video logs by accessing the vendor’s specified server.
