Tom DeMarco is an American author and software engineer, notable for having been an early developer of structured analysis in the 1970s. He is a Principal of the Atlantic Systems Guild, a Fellow of the Cutter Business Technology Council and he serves on the Editorial Board of the Cutter IT Journal.
Understanding the Tom DeMarco
Tom DeMarco began his career at Bell Telephone Laboratories, and has since written a number of celebrated texts (both fiction and nonfiction) as well as lecturing and consulting across the world. He is a recipient of the Warnier Prize for "lifetime contribution to the field of computing" and the 1999 Wayne Stevens Prize for "contribution to software methods." Some topics explored in his work include management, organizational design and systems development. One of his most notable books is 1987’s "Peopleware," which he co-authored with Tim Lister.
